Hi All,
Thanks for being patient, you'll be happy to know that the beta will be uploaded during the week. This is basically a test of our build process and our compilation scripts. There are few things you should know before testing:
- It's i386 only for now (64 bit will be on final version only as the build scripts are more or less the same) - On installing, when you get to the summary screen, you need to choose ADVANCED and select your HD install target. (it was thought that this was not enough to hold it back any further but will be fixed in final). - or this will cause GRUB install error. - For those who are seriously testing the iso, PM me or Paul (Guitaraholic) and we'll add you to bugzilla. Link is http://bugs.eeebuntu.org - If reporting bugs and you know the fix, add that in too. - Do NOT run update in live before you install, there is a python upgrade that will break the installer (again it was thought that was not enough to hold back the beta release). - We are saving the user artwork for the final release so there is only one installed in this release. - The usplash is temporary, we are working on a spangly new one for the final version. - In some cases you need root password in live to change things, you can set the root password by issuing #sudo passwd in terminal.
I'll amend this post when the iso is in place (this will either be Monday 8th or Tuesday 9th Feb).
The eb4 and apptesting repos are partially populated. If you are missing an app that you use let us know and we'll add it in.
If there are any users wishing to put their dev skills to use then PM me, we also need some repo maintainers, if you're interested PM any team member.
Stay tuned to this forum for the availability announcement.

Hay All,
Apologies for the seemingly quiet patch after the beta release - dont worry were still here!
Alot has been going on behind the scene's at present :
1/ After the number of issues reported with the ubiquity installer and the major issues we found in adopting it we have started work on our own installer. It seems ubiquity is written for ubuntu and ubuntu only
Once we have our own installer boxed off it should fix the issues with debconf and locales users were having.
You can thank steve for his brilliant coding skills in throwing this together! its progressing nicely!
2/ Obviously we are working on a new site ( u didnt think we would stick with a placeholder 1 page site did you!?) . I've been working on afew other idea's which tie into the online sites as well which will be launched alongside the Stable ISO.
3/ All you brilliant artists and photographers who submitted wallpaper for our final release have not been forgotten! We have over 70 submissions we consider to be suitable for wallpapers - the whole dev and mods team are going to be whittling this down over the next week. We will then put a page up with our top 20 submissions and a way to vote! The top 10 votes will be part of the ISO alongside our own 2 wallpapers
Don't worry! All the other submissions we liked but didn't get in will be added to a wallpapers extra's package available for download on the day of release! We would love to include all of these by default but there isn't space left on the ISO!
4/ Finally for those who don't know we have a bugtracker up and running and would appreciate any bugs you find get a report at http://bugs.eeebuntu.org/ . If your a dab hand please see if your able to rectify any bugs submitted then let us know how to fix it so we can add it to the final ISO
Thats all for now! More info coming soon!

Hay Users! Just a quick update on how things are going down at EB towers
We have been busy working away on our own Installer - its coming along nicely at present but still have a bit of work to do
You may notice a Slew of new updates coming into the repo's this week - this is all in preperation for us switching to gnome 2.30. Hopefully looking at its inclusion in the next week or 2
Also with gnome 2.30 were hoping to get the final bugs with update manager cleared too
